Jay excels at adjusting his teaching to meet the needs of his students. His classroom style is calm, interactive, and engaging. He is skilled at using analogies and examples from real life to help students understand unfamiliar concepts and ways of thinking, and guides them to find the answers themselves.
Jay graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. After moving to Hong Kong, he provided exam preparation tutoring to students from Diocesan Girls' School, St. Clare's Girls' School, and Ying Wa Girls' School in the early years after the DSE English exams were introduced, helping them cope with this new examination system.
Jay has always hoped to bring positive change to the world and enjoys helping others. His teaching career began at York College, City University of New York, as a writing tutor. He believes that teaching is the career that best suits his personality.
Jay has a wide range of interests, from specialty coffee and Chinese tea culture to strength training and Southeast Asian and South Asian history.
