David Tian

David has taught students ranging in age from middle school to university, on a wide array of subjects. David's lessons are focused and custom-tailored to what each learner needs most, whether it's subject content or test-specific knowledge. He has been working as an international educator for nearly a decade, and has also served as a teaching assistant at Johns Hopkins University. As an instructor, David has helped students achieve top scores on several AP subjects and the SAT, including one perfect score and several students who have seen score increases of several hundred points.

Pedagogically, David uses the scaffolding method, in which the teacher progressively increases the level of challenge and difficulty until the student fully masters a skill or concept.

In addition to teaching, David is also capable of consulting for both undergraduate and graduate admissions, with previous clients earning admission to universities such as University of Michigan, UCLA, and Carnegie Mellon University (with an SAT score of 1300!) at the undergraduate level, and universities such as Harvard Kennedy, Cornell Johnson, and University of Pennsylvania at the graduate level.
