Trust Tichivangana
A deep belief that mathematical intuition beats memorization guides Trust’s approach to education. Currently pursuing his engineering degree at the University of Hong Kong as an HKU Future Leaders Scholarship recipient with 4 A*s in his own Cambridge A-Levels, he combines his academic background with innovative teaching methods to inspire a love for learning in his students. With his background, Trust has expertise in:
Mathematics: A-Level, IGCSE
Physics: A-Level, IGCSE
In addition to his specialisation in Mathematics, Trust also teaches Physics, focusing on grounding abstract concepts in practical logic. This patience and step-by-step methodology stems from his own academic journey; when his secondary school could not provide a teacher for Cambridge Further Mathematics, he took it upon himself to master the rigorous syllabus entirely through independent study. Facing and overcoming those intellectual hurdles alone gave him a profound empathy for struggling students, alongside firsthand knowledge of how to build clear mental models from scratch. Through his teaching and mentorship, he aims to equip learners with analytical frameworks that serve them far beyond exam day.
Beyond his teaching responsibilities, Trust is an avid athlete and served as the captain of his college volleyball team. He has also accumulated extensive experience in student development as a full-time Teaching Assistant, Mentor, and Assistant Volleyball Coach at St George's College, Zimbabwe. He believes that the strategic patience and resilience demanded on the court help him build stronger connections with students of varying abilities, allowing him to distill intimidating STEM topics into accessible, encouraging milestones.
