Jay adapts to his students' needs, and his teaching style is calm, engaging, and interactive. He uses real-world analogies and examples to help reinforce concepts and ideas which are new to his students, and he helps students find their own answers.
Jay graduated with a BS in Business Administration from the City University of New York with Magna Cum Laude honors. Upon relocating to Hong Kong, he provided tutoring services to students from DGS, St Clare's Girls' School, and Ying Wa Girls' School to prepare them for the DSE English examination during the initial years of its introduction.
Beyond teaching, Jay is an enthusiast of third-wave coffee, Chinese tea culture, strength training, as well as Southeast and South Asian history. Motivated by a genuine desire to help others and create positive impact, he launched his teaching journey as a writing tutor at City University of New York – York College and finds education to be the ideal career aligned with his personality.
